Water Boarding - It's not torture, it's 'aggressive interogation'

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15431835/ - Thanks to a little bit of semantic chicanery America can sleep at night knowing that they're not actually torturing people... Just submerging them in water until they believe that they're drowning.

And of course, they might not actually know anything. How very Marathon Man... Is it safe? Is it safe? is it safe?

Infinite Justice?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060917/ap_on_re_mi_ea/in_american_hands - Well, they sure know how to win 'hearts and minds'. Just lock up indefinatly and torture thousands of people. Now, forgive me if I'm wrong, but these were a couple of reasons floated about Sadam as to why he had to be stopped and Iraq invaded...

The Bush administration sickens me. And it's sad as unfortunatly, they drag down the rest of America by proxy. Obviously I don't believe that who you are is who the majority of people has elected, but it reflects badly on oneself (in the same way that I feel shame for Britian's actions in the War for fossil fuels against Terror.

Torture update

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4524864.stm - The plot thickens... Surely if the CIA have been out sourcing torture then that would make ol' Mr. Bush a bit of a hypocrite wouldn't it? After all, regime change because the current one tortured people was one of host of excuses, oops, reasons why Iraq was invaded in the first place.

Actually... What exactly was the reason we invaded? There were so many reasons that I've lost track. I know that the final one for England was that Iraq had WMDs and we had to stop him. We later found out that there were none but Blair has never backed down, claiming that he always believed they were there and that was enough reason. I'm not too sure what final actual reason that America went in though. Does anyone out there know the exact final reason why the country was invaded. I've lost track...
